Michael Carlotto
Terroir
Project Lead
Michael works for TERROIR, an international office practicing architecture, urban planning and creative research. Based in the Hobart office, Michael works both locally within Tasmania and interstate with several significant projects underway in Victoria.
Experienced in using both BIM and Computational Design, he seeks to integrate the two methodologies where ever possible within his work. Michael believes that both new technologies and traditional methods of practice can complement each other. With improvements to technology allowing designers to spend less time on mundane, repetitive tasks and more time spent on design exploration and testing of solutions.
Before TERROIR, Michael was an Associate with Brisbane architectural practice Arkhefield. During his 10+ years with Arkhefield, Michael gained significant project experience across many different sectors and scales. Michael was an integral component of the building information modelling and computational design team at Arkhefield. He was responsible for the development and implementation of internal processes for the use of digital technologies within the practice.
